Individual therapy sessions are customized to meet the specific needs of each client. One-on-one sessions typically run about 50 minutes. Initially, weekly sessions are preferred to gain momentum and an understanding of your needs. Individual therapy can offer you the space to bounce ideas and feel heard without concern of judgement.
Individual sessions for trauma work are typically 53 minutes, once or twice a week, depending on your individual needs. Eye Movement & Desensitization Response Therapy (EMDR) is a therapeutic modality used to treat trauma. Often individuals believe a traumatic experience only includes something life threatening. The definition is actually much more broad when using EMDR, it includes any event that led you to question the way you feel about yourself or how you experience the world around you. This may often be experienced as feeling stuck or having no direction in life, feeling as though you have to work much harder to obtain the things you want, or struggling to feel fulfilled in your life.
Group therapy is a great way to learn new skills. Our Movement & Mindfulness group is a coping skills group focusing on learning the basics of breathing, meditation, and movement. The structure of the group is 12 weeks, with 4 weeks dedicated to each topic.
